Every ORIVENNE piece is designed to be worn, loved and kept close. A little thoughtful care can help preserve its beauty and keep it part of your story for longer. Always check the Materials & Details section of your product page for the specific composition of your piece.
Everyday Wear
To protect the finish and delicate materials, remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping or using household cleaning products. Keep it away from prolonged contact with water, perspiration, perfume, lotion, hairspray and other chemicals.
Put your jewellery on after skincare, perfume and cosmetics have fully dried. Take it off before activities where it may be knocked, caught or scratched.
How to Store Your Jewellery
When not wearing a piece, store it separately in its original pouch, a soft jewellery pouch or a lined compartment. Keeping pieces apart helps prevent chains from tangling and metals or stones from rubbing against one another.
Choose a cool place away from excessive moisture, heat and direct sunlight. Avoid leaving jewellery in a bathroom, on a sunny windowsill or loose in a handbag.
How to Clean Your Jewellery
After wearing, gently wipe your jewellery with a clean, soft, dry, non-abrasive cloth to remove oils and residue. Do not scrub the surface or soak the piece.
A silver polishing cloth may be used gently on unplated sterling-silver areas only. Do not use one on gold, white-gold or rhodium plating, pearls, crystals or stones. Avoid bleach, alcohol, abrasive cleaners and harsh jewellery-cleaning products. Do not use steam or ultrasonic cleaners unless a qualified professional confirms they are safe for every material and setting in your particular piece.
If a piece needs more than a gentle wipe, contact our care team for advice before cleaning it further.
Gold-Plated and Silver Jewellery
Many ORIVENNE designs use sterling silver with a plated finish. Plating is a surface layer and may gradually change in appearance with friction, moisture and regular wear. Gentle handling helps preserve its colour and finish.
- Remove plated jewellery before bathing, swimming or exercising.
- Keep perfume, skincare products and cleaning agents away from the surface.
- Wipe gently after each wear and store pieces separately.
- Do not use abrasive polishing cloths on plated areas.
Pearls, Crystals and Stones
Freshwater pearls and decorative stones need especially gentle handling. Natural pearls may vary in shape, colour, surface and lustre; these differences are part of their character. Avoid dropping or knocking these pieces against hard surfaces, and store them away from harder jewellery.
Keep pearls, crystals and stones away from perfume, hairspray, cleaning products, prolonged moisture and high heat. Gently wipe them with a very soft cloth after wearing. Do not soak pearl jewellery or place it in a steam or ultrasonic cleaner.
When to Ask for Help
Check clasps and stone settings from time to time. If a stone feels loose, a clasp no longer closes securely, or any part of your jewellery seems damaged, stop wearing the piece and contact us before it is lost or damaged further.
